Strongly and sharply

Noblessner’s quarter development project has gained another recognition

At the annual event, arranged by the National Heritage Board of Estonia, the best guardians and promoters of cultural heritage along with restorers of historic landmarks were honoured. Tõnis Lukas, Minister of Culture, presented the prize to Ivar Piirsalu, real estate development director for BLRT Grupp, for its expertise in restoration of foundry in the Noblessner’s quarter. This year, a total of 55 awards were given in 11 categories.

According to Ivar Piirsalu, renovation of landmarked buildings means investing beyond the limits of everyday life. "Restoration of the century-old Noblessner foundry is a perfect example of a model reconstruction of Estonia's cultural heritage and viability of landmarked building monuments of industrial architecture in the context of modern information society."

In mid-October, the PROTO invention factory within the walls of landmarked foundry building, where the latest virtual reality technology is combined with the centuries-old scientific discoveries, was opened to visitors. Together with the science hobby centre it offers a full list of opportunities for seminars, major events and concerts.
